The Brotherhood's "President's Award for Scouting"
On Sunday June 27th The Brotherhood of St. Andrew honored Andrew Novalsky of Christ Church Woodbury N.J. with it's first ever Presidents Award for Scouting. Bob Dennis our National President personally presented Andrew the award at the 10:00 am Sunday service. Which was directly followed by his installment as a member by Bob Dennis and myself.
On May 16 th Andrew was presented the rank of Eagle Scout at a ceremony in Atco N.J. The Presidents Award for Scouting was not just for his achievement of making Eagle Scout.
Andrew is the oldest acolyte at Christ Church, and sets an example for all the younger acolytes who look up to him. (and they do). He is most often seen carrying the cross in the altar procession, is an active member of the church youth group, and at age14 volunteered for a church mission trip to Louisiana after hurricane Katrina.
He has served as State President for The Children Of The American Revolution.
Andrew is also inducted into The National Honor Society. He just graduated high school and will attend Lycoming college in the fall.
I have known Andrew for many years, I went to Louisiana for hurricane relief with him and saw first hand what he is made of.
We often talk about what makes up a Brother's Andrew. Andrew Novalsky lives the example of what we should expect from ourselves and our Brothers.
